While in your care, your foster dog will need some things. Besides a warm place to sleep, MAD Rescue asks that the foster provide the following to their foster dogs:
Your foster dog requires quality kibble and fresh, clean water available to it. We do not allow or disallow a particular food, we just ask that you feed your foster dog a balanced kibble higher in protein and low on additives.
Your foster dog will need toys and other items to stay occupied when you are not exercising it. This may include tugs, balls, Kongs, etc.
Your foster dog will require regular, consistent exercise. This may include hiking, walking, ball play, tug play, or a sport such as dock diving or barn hunt. Physical and intellectual stimulation are important!
While in foster, we ask that you share images, videos and updates on your foster dog with your dog's adoption counselor. This allows MAD Rescue to properly advertise your foster dog and increases the likelihood of a speedy, successful placement
While in foster, MAD Rescue provides certain items at our expense to help maintain your foster dog. These include:
MAD Rescue provides financial coverage for the dog's vet expenses, to include any necessary vaccines, microchip expenses, and spay/neuter surgery. We want a healthy, happy dog and so do you.
MAD Rescue believes that Heartworm is the number one preventable medical condition for dogs-and we always provide Heartguard chewable, as well as NexGuard for flea and tick prevention, for all our foster dogs.
MAD Rescue provides a foster box to our fosters as a thank you. It includes an assortment of products designed to make your life easier, and is our thanks to you for helping save a life.
