FI collar is peace of mind for the foster and for the rescue volunteer. It provides added safety for the each of the MAD Rescue dogs.
FI is a GPS collar that allows fosters to track their foster dogs location and activities. If a dog is lost, fosters can very quickly find the location of that lost dog.
Foster parents can order a Fi collar through our ticket system. A separate ticket should be entered for the FI versus the foster box.
In the ticket system the foster parent will be prompted to enter the size. Please measure your foster dog to get the correct size.
More about the MAD Rescue and FI partnership.
FI Collars are provided to foster homes at no cost to them. Each foster dog will be provided with a FI collar for as long as the dog remains in foster care.
What happens to the collar next? The FI collar will transfer with the dog no matter where it may go. When a MAD Rescue dogs is adopted the collar goes to the adopter and that adopter receives the first 12 months of FI service as a benefit of their adoption through MAD rescue.
The FI collar will go with the foster dog on transport to their new home. And give added security against loss of the dog during the transportation.
As a foster parent who adopts their own foster dog, you get the same benefit. You will receive the first 12 months of service for free.
Once the foster orders the collar through the ticket system, the collar will ship via mail to the foster home. Care should be used with the foster dog until the collar is received so that it is not lost.
Instructions will be received and are shared on this site too. Check out the QR code for more instructions.
The Do's and Dont's tips will come with your collar. You can also check them out here on this website.
Zoey was a beautiful Belgian Malinois with a shy and soft personality. She found her forever family who went to Florida to pick her up. It was love at first sight. Zoey was a flight risk due to her background. Shortly after reaching her home in another state she backed out of her flat collar. Her family, friends, and rescue friends looked for her for days. Zoey was found dead. She was a casualty of not having enough time to bond with her family before she was lost. She eluded capture at every attempt. Lets not let Zoey’s death be in vain. Please review the tools available and make sure we have a plan for each dog to transport and transition to their new family. Let Zoey’s Legacy ensure safety for other pets in the future.
